Glossary

The place to come for key terms made easy

Drag and drop

This is a new feature in iOS 15 that lets you drag content from one app and drop it into another. You will need to physcially open the app you want to drop the content into, you can’t just drag it over the icon for that app.

Focus

A new feature of macOS Monterey and iOS 15, Focus is an expansion of Do Not Disturb that lets you create new ‘Focus groups’ for any given time period and determine exactly which apps and people can contact you when it is in effect.

Private Relay

Private Relay is a new feature of macOS Monterey and iOS 15 that keeps your internet activity private by hiding your IP address and browsing activity in Safari, and protects your unencrypted internet traffic so that no one, including Apple, can see who you are.

macOS System Preferences

Can the new Private Relay feature in Monterey be used on specific networks and not just all of them? Lori Palowsky

1 Open settings

Go to System Preferences>Network>Wi- Fi and you will see the ‘Use iCloud Replay’ (or ‘Limit IP Address Tracking’) listed under the name of the network that you are currently on.
