The Era 2 is a remarkably beautiful chassis that needs to be seen in the flesh to be fully appreciated. The design language, curves, wooden accents, perforations, paint job— it’s an outstanding little ITX chassis, not too dissimilar to the Terra we built in late last year. The major difference? Other than some internal design shifts here and there (it still features a shifting motherboard tray, giving you adaptable clearance for GPUs and CPU coolers), there’s a ton more roof space, meaning that you can fit radiators up to 280mm in there.
That said, there are a few caveats. Make sure you get an SFX PSU, not an SFX-L, and we recommend sticking with a 240mm AIO, not the full-fat 280mm (Fractal agrees with us on that one too). Available in black, white, or blue satin-coated finishes, it’s a true treat, but requires an expert builder to get to grips with. $200, www.fractal-design.com
