Down to the wire, can AMD snatch victory away from Intel?”

LAST ISSUE, we promised to test graphics software from the big three, and that’s what we’re delivering. Last time, we put both Nvidia’s freshly released ‘NVIDIA App’ (still hate that capitalization) and AMD’s Software: Adrenalin Edition into the Maximum PC labs to figure out who exactly was the king of the hill when it came to graphics setting tweaks.
In perhaps a surprise to very few, AMD came out on top, slaughtering the green competition with an advanced suite of metric logging, performance tweaking, and better laid-out software than Nvidia could match—at least not yet. That’s not a surprise, because the Nvidia App relaunch is relatively new, and still under development. AMD Adrenalin has been iterated on time and time again since the Radeon 5000 series, and has developed some serious chops.
