The first of which, according to personal stylist Daniel Johnson (daniel-johnson.com), is how the seam of the top sits.“This might not initially cross your mind,” says Johnson, “but it’s my golden rule with all men’s garments.

“Make sure the shoulder seam sits on the top of the ‘humeral head’ – which is the bone at the top of your arm where it joins your shoulder. Having the seam sit here makes the shoulders look the widest.”
