A combination of lycopene, found in tomatoes, and whey protein may improve sperm quality. Lycopene is a well-known antioxidant and previous studies have indicated similar benefits on sperm health. Sperm are very vulnerable to damage by free radicals, which may explain why increasing your antioxidant intake has such benefits. The amount used in the study is the equivalent of eating 2kg cooked tomatoes, but you can get the same benefits from two tablespoons of concentrated tomato puree, or a lycopene supplement.
