Colourful hanging baskets that were reported missing last week have been retrieved and returned to the Fort William Town Team. The flower baskets, which usually adorn lampposts along the town’s High Street, were reported missing last Monday by the Town Team. After an appeal on social media, the team were able to retrieve the baskets two days later, after they had been dumped in an alley just off the High Street, thanks to the help of local shoppers. Although they are a bit worse for wear, the team are hoping to replant the baskets and rehang them in the coming weeks.
The Town Team said: ‘Thank you to the people who let us know where they were found and took them back to the Hub for us. We really appreciate your help.’
