While Lochaber is renowned only for its long shinty and football tradition, other local sports have been thriving, such as cricket.
Last season saw Fort William Cricket Club clinch a fine array of silverware, all won against strong opposition from clubs across the country with considerably more heritage and experience, which further underlines the sporting talent in the area.
However, with the start of the cricket season getting closer, Fort William CC, now in its 11th season, are on the lookout for new members. Training has already begun with indoor sessions at the Nevis Centre, which have attracted a few new converts to the wicket but, as with all teams, there is always room for more.
