At the time of writing we are heading into uncharted waters. This issue was mostly written and put together before the coronavirus pandemic; by the time you read this I am sure the situation will have changed again. If your swimming is now curtailed, I hope these pages will give you inspiration for when you return to the water.
In this issue we meet ice swimmer Simon Harmer, whose relationship with the water has helped him recover from losing both his legs in Afghanistan. Our swimterview this month is with the Reverend Kate Bottley, who discusses spirituality, connectedness and the instant hit of cold water swimming with Ella Foote. And in our monthly history feature by Elaine Howley we learn about marathon swimming in Hawaii and meet a terrifying little shark.
