THE private 10¼in gauge North Cornwall Miniature Railway created by Bob Lanaway at St Teath, held its first official open day on October 16. The half-mile railway with loops and a spiral, was opened on August 18, 2019, as an adjunct to a large collection of toys, pedal cars and other items.
Occasional open days to raise funds for charity have been held in the past, but some local residents feared a tourist attraction in the making and complained to the council. Having raised a lot of money for Cornwall Hospice Care and air ambulance, planning approval has been granted to hold four public running days each year.
