If you’ve taken a look at theAxyzscreenshots adorning this spread, you’ll notice a striking similarity to the excellent puzzlerKula World. Mark Robinson chats with Nick Thorpe about the game’s inception and how it’s definitely not a Super Money Ball clone.
So Mark, how did you get into game development?
During the pandemic I did a part-time diploma course in game design here in Dublin, because I needed to do something and not lose my fucking mind like everyone else. […] I was then made redundant, and a friend of mine (who also worked in the same company) was made redundant six months later. He was like, ‘Look, you’ve always wanted to make a game, why don’t you just make a game then?’ So I was like, ‘OK, why don’t I just make a game then?’ That was around the end of 2022, the start of 2023.
