Blood runs thicker in Al Ewing, Ram V and Bryan Hitch’s all-new Venom
TEAMING UP WITH ARTIST Bryan Hitch to launch the Sinister Symbiote’s new monthly title, Al Ewing and Ram V were initially interested in different members of the Venomverse cast. For while Ewing wanted to write about the Black Suit’s alter ego Eddie Brock, it was his son Dylan that intrigued V.
“I knew exactly how the story would start and where it was headed, but it was an Eddie Brock story and that is not a Venom story,” reasons Ewing, who also acknowledges the legacy of the previous Venom creative team, Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman. “Donnie and Ryan had built all this additional stuff up with Dylan – but I had no Dylan ideas. So, I didn’t want to do it, because I’d be short-changing the Venom fans, and ignoring one side of the equation while focusing on the other.”
