Amanda recalls the only inhospitable moment from her trip to Denmark...

We finished our ride late afternoon and piled ourselves into the two vans. “Do you know the way back to your apartment?” “Yeah sure. See you at dinner.” At the end of the green lane that led out of the woods we continued to follow Kristian, our Danish tour guide for the week, in the lead van. He was on his way home to see Olav, his five-year-old son, after his first day at school. As we turned off the main road, our driver announced he wasn’t actually completely sure of the way back to the apartment. Luckily, Kristian had pulled over to ask why we were still following him. After a brief discussion about where we had gone wrong and some directions to get us back on track, he sarcastically suggested that we could all just carry on to his house.
