Queer culture and music have always gone hand in hand with the authenticity that they allow so many of us. Music has always been an outlet for expression, and for me, really enjoying Pop music and being slightly theatrical in my performance is being authentic. It isn’t necessarily the macho masculinity that people often expect from a transman - ‘you’ve become a boy, so why are you acting like a girl?’
