If ever there was a time for the expression ‘bitter-sweet’, this was it. ‘Bitter’ because my calendar has been empty since March. Much of my work is guiding other photographers on safari, and with no travel it means no job. That sucks. But ‘sweet’ because, with the world in crisis, the Serengeti stood empty of visitors, providing a unique opportunity to explore it with only the wildlife for company. What a privilege.
It was out of this that Serengeti Safari: One Day at a Time was born. As passionate conservationists, the four of us wanted to take the Serengeti into homes across the globe, to remind a world in lockdown of this wildlife wonder waiting for you when travel restrictions are eased.
