Dancing in a muddy field along with thousands of other people, the atmosphere is electric. I’m at my first Glastonbury festival with a group of my closest friends. But while you might thinkI’m a teenager excited to get away from my parents for the weekend, I’m not. I’m a 45-year-old mother-of-two and having the best time of my life.
I’ve always loved music. Growing up, I’d listen to Genesis, Phil Collins, Madness and The Police. But living in Cornwall there weren’t many gigs to go to, so I’d play their records with my friends in my room.
The first person I ever saw live was Tina Turner. I was 19 and I’d just moved to London. I felt so alive singing along to all her hits with the rest of the crowd. From then on I spent my weekends with friends watching live music and two years later I moved in with my partner Russell.
