With social media having its downsides and negative impact on the world, it is sometimes easily forgotten how much good it can do, too. Accounts for pet dogs are definitely a force for good!
Owners gain a lot of enjoyment creating the content and followers find daily delight in seeing the posts. In a more general sense, it brings into focus (pun intended!) the possibilities of life with your pet. That life with your dog is a collection of going out together, the little moments at home, discovering your dog’s personality, and making the most of being companions. Creating content drives owners to do more with their dog, while the pictures and videos can inspire other dog owners to do more with their canine companions. It’s a regular reminder to make the most of life with dogs!
This comes across in the lead feature (page 12) on social media dogs. The account holders we speak to have gained a good number of followers (several thousands, not millions!) and brands want to work with them. However, the owners set the accounts up for fun and their passion for their dogs. They all echo that authenticity is the key to a good pet social media account, so the gospel of dogs remains at the heart of it.
