For trainer Victoria Stilwell maintaining the drive towards progressive dog training and truly changing dogs’ lives is the ultimate aim.

With only one remaining UK Dog Behaviour and Training Charter group founder member to spotlight, we are finishing this series in style with Victoria Stilwell Positively Dog Training (VSPDT) and the Victoria Stilwell Academy (VSA). We spoke to Victoria to find out more about her and her two organisations.
Q
How did you get into dog training?
VS: “Before I became a full-time dog trainer (first in private practice and then later on TV), I was an actor. I graduated from the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London in the mid-90s with an agent and my first job, and then spent many years working in the acting profession. During this time, I also had a side job which I loved almost as much — dog sitting and dog walking. It ticked all the boxes in terms of being able to pick sitting jobs when I needed them, and gave me the freedom to audition and take acting jobs when they came along.
