Cocktail of the month
The sweetness of the pomegranate juice and ginger syrup is tempered by the pepperiness of ginger ale and bitterness of sloe gin in this mulled delight from our wine editor Susy Atkins. This makes enough for two short but quite punchy drinks, so use smallish glasses.
Spiced sloe, pomegranate & ginger warmer
Serves 2
Put 150ml pomegranate juice, 30ml sloe gin, 5ml Chambord, 4 cloves, 1 small cinnamon stick and 10ml syrup from a jar of stem ginger in a saucepan. Heat until hot (but not boiling), then leave to infuse over a very low heat for a few minutes. Add 150ml ginger ale, heat until hot again, then divide between 2 glasses. Garnish with a slice of clementine.
