“Can you help me with these?” said Chloe.
She was wrapping the small presents for the twins’ stockings: chocolate coins, clementines, mini toys… It was a family tradition. Although, she wondered as she looked at Joe, stretched out on the sofa watching an old episode of Inspector Morse, did family traditions mean anything to him these days?
“I’m knackered, honey,” said Joe, not looking away from a terse exchange between Morse and his smarmy superior.
