We’ve all been there. You’re busy, tired and hungry. You don’t want anything OTT, just something simple to fill a gap. You settle on a sandwich but, as you’re buttering the bread, it occurs to you that plain cheese is a bit boring. You should probably add some pickle because, you know, you’re someone who appreciates food and you should make the effort. Plus, if that gourmet pickle isn’t oozing from the sides of a doorstep sandwich that really should be filled with an artisan cheddar rather than shrink-wrapped mild, you definitely won’t be able to post it on Instagram.
