Oar-some scenics
Kate Baxter surrounds her life with water
A rough day at Tynemouth. The setting sun meant finding a balance between low light conditions and using shutter speeds fast enough to freeze the powerful waves as they leap skywards. 1/320 sec at f/4.4, ISO 200; focal length 124mm.
As a keen sea kayaker, a lot of my images are taken on the water. Multi-day paddling expeditions often mean finding locations that many people are unable to reach easily. Of course, a fully laden kayak means space and weight are at a premium, so shooting with a Panasonic G9 makes carrying gear easy, and I don’t need to compromise by leaving lenses behind.
