Set up your camera for low light
Work with your camera rather than against it, and you’ll have a happier night-time experience
Some of the features of your camera need plenty of light to function properly, which can lead to problems when there’s not much of it around. The autofocus system might hunt back and forth looking for the subject, for example. While some high-end cameras have sensitive AF systems that essentially work in moonlight, most don’t; so you may have resort to using manual focus and the magnified Live View display on the rear screen or electronic viewfinder.
