PART 2
Capture critters
Every bush, leaf and patch of grass is alive with insects and molluscs making the most of the good times
E ven the most humble back garden is likely to be full of interesting small critters to capture on camera. And if you live in a flat, just head for the nearest park or even a patch of wasteland. Nature’s springtime abundance might need you to get up close with a macro lens, reversing rings or close-up filters, but the rewards are there for the taking.
Close-up photography takes a bit of effort, and you might find yourself on your hands and knees or even lying flat to the ground to get the best angles. A groundsheet to lie on and a beanbag to rest the lens on at ground level are two useful and relatively inexpensive accessories to have when it comes to mounting a backyard safari.
