Homosexuality is illegal in more than 70 countries around the world and many nations discriminate against the LGBT community. Somewhat unsurprisingly, this affects our travel choices. A recent survey by OutOfOffice.com and Attitude magazine has found that 61% of LGBT people would not travel to a destination where homosexuality is illegal. But the survey, which polled 900 people, a third of whom identified as female, also found that 60% of queer travellers did not want to be restricted only to LGBT-friendly destinations. Instead, they wanted the freedom to travel anywhere.
