“Erm, Michael, I think he meant on the TV,” says Emma, gesturing at the palatial throne room of Rosanna Calvierri. “Straight in with a stunning Gothic chamber and beautiful sixteenth-century Venetian period costumes – this looks sumptuous!”

Michael huffs. “My new curtains are pretty sumptuous too.”

“So we’re in 1580? Feels like ages since we’ve had a historical,” says Will. “The Next Doctor?”

“No, Will,” says Michael. “It was Victory of the Daleks, two stories ago.”
