Beyond the TARDIS

A round-up of what the cast and crew of Doctor Who have been up to away from the series...

Bendu Like Baker

◼ In July it was announced Tom Baker would voice Bendu in the forthcoming season of Star Wars: Rebels to air on Disney XD. Tom first affirmed this during August 2015’s ‘Day of the Doctors 2’ convention. Bendu is described as ‘the middle way of the force’ and features in the trailer (see at two minutes and 43 seconds). Meanwhile, Colin Baker, who will soon be seen as a contestant in ITV’s The Chase, played Theo in crowdfunded science-fiction movie Time and Again in Nottingham during July.

Capaldi's box

Peter Capaldi features as Cardinal Richelieu throughout Season One of the recent box set release The Musketeers: The Complete Collection and later this year will be seen as David Hunter in a limited 1,000 edition reissue of half-hour short Solid Geometry. Amazon Prime launches eight-part post-World War II Paris fashion house drama The Collection featuring Michelle Gomez as Eliette on 2 September. Alex Kingston will appear as a so far unnamed eccentric character in a couple of episodes of Netflix’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
