Back in the 1970s, 80s and 90s, the world of Doctor Who fandom was awash with fanzines – amateur non-profit-making magazines, made by fans, for fans, and generally sold by mail order or circulated at conventions and other fan gatherings. Some fanzines were essentially photocopied folded sheets of A4, while others aspired to a more professional standard. Fanzines would contain the latest news and rumours about upcoming episodes, artwork, letters and reviews. In these days of internet forums, podcasts and YouTube videos, the fanzine has become something of an endangered species, but there are still a few keeping the flame alive.
