Dame Sheila Hancock.
Sheila Hancock was made a Dame in the New Year Honours List, which also saw recognition for Toby Jones
(OBE), Nina Wadia (OBE) and Lesley Manville (CBE). In a reversal of this, Michael Sheen has admitted to returning the OBE he was awarded in 2009 after researching the history of Wales and its relationship with England.

TELEVISION
The new Russell T Davies series It’s a Sin began on Channel 4 on 22 January and will run for five weeks. Its creative team includes Phil Collinson producing, Peter Hoar directing, Andy Pryor as casting director, Murray Gold composing the music and Shaun Dooley, Keeley Hawes, Stephen Fry and Caroline Berry among the cast.
David Tennant, Michael Sheen and Georgia Tennant returned for a new series o f BBC One’s Staged between 4 and 26 January; all episodes are now available on BBC iPlayer.
They were joined for this second series of lockdown self-mockery by a stellar cast that included Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Hugh Bonneville.
