Your Summer Soundtrack
CONTRIBUTING MUSIC EDITOR ROXY LOLA SHARES THE ULTIMATE PLAYLIST
What makes a song of the summer? It’s something that captures the synergy of liberating lyricism, shimmering synths, sun-soaked visuals and infectious beats — a tune that will take us from beach, to backyard barbecue, to dance floor. This year, we’re spoilt for choice with an impeccable line-up of both Australian and international artists dropping new releases that you can’t help but let loose to. And with many of these artists hitting our shores for headline tours or festival appearances, your summer soundtrack is well and truly sorted.
Kendrick Lamar
GRAND NATIONAL TOUR
Don’t be fooled by the title, Kendrick Lamar’s Grand National Tour is, thankfully, an international tour. Following sold-out shows across North America, Europe and the UK with SZA, the Pulitzer Prize and 22-time Grammy winner will be on our shores in December to play four dates in Sydney and Melbourne. Sadly, SZA isn’t following, but two of his shows, including the grand finale at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, see Doechii in the support spot. While he’s here, he will also be headlining Spilt Milk festival in early December between stadium shows.
