Sam Raimi: “There’s a great shot I remember seeing as a kid on an old black-and-white TV. Humphrey Bogart wins the lottery, money comes his way, and he decides with Tim Holt and Walter Huston to go out prospecting. There’s a shot where they agree to it, at the height of their friendship, and they shake hands. John Huston just slowly moves in on that handshake. Because it’s a story of how greed can destroy, that handshake has intense significance for me. What a great moment to mark with that subtle camera move.”
