Well the good news is that by deciding to go vegan this January you have taken the first step to achieving all three and endless benefits await both you and the planet! But as with any big lifestyle change, there’s a period of adjustment as you learn to navigate the world as a vegan, which can seem overwhelming if you don’t know where to start. Thankfully we’re here to guide you through with a week one meal plan and selection of delicious recipes to awaken your taste buds to the delights of vegan cuisine (p11).
One thing you might learn this month is that many of your favourite everyday products are actually accidentally vegan! These include Co-op’s custard doughnuts and Party Ring biscuits – hurrah! However, you’ll have to develop your label reading skills to decipher whether certain products are suitable for vegans as some ingredients aren’t obviously derived from animals (albumen or isinglass anyone?!).
