You might have read last month about my twin brother Tom jumping from one Superbike to the next and to the next. Well, he isn’t the only one who can play musical motorbikes – I’ve decided to park the Supersport bike up and do the rest of the season on a Superstock bike instead.
It all came about when my mate Steady offered me a go on his Suzuki GSX-R1000. I took it to a trackday and loved it – in fact I couldn’t get enough of it – so I got on to Mark at No Limits Racing to get booked into their club meeting at Cadwell. Both Tom and I went and we had a really good time. It was great to get some proper track time on the stocker and by the end of the weekend I was doing lap times that would have been good enough for a top six in Superstock 1000 (Tom did go a touch faster than me but I saw him cut the chicane a few times, so I’m guessing that’s when he clocked his lap time), so my mind was made up – I was going to make the change to Superstock.
