Scientists finally confirm fishermen’s long held evidence about increases in fish stocks in the Northern North Sea, recommending Cod quota increase of 44% for 2023, and an increase in Haddock of 160%! A population boom of Octopus in the south west, meanwhile, and strong demand by UK consumers, has lead to a temporary bonanza for SW fishermen, although concerned exist about the number of lobster being eaten by the Octopus, which weigh as much as 4kg.
