Congratulations – our readers have voted you as the best player in League Two! Why do you think they’ve enjoyed your performances this season? I like to think there aren’t many midfielders similar to me at this level. There are great players in League Two, but in terms of ability and understanding the game, I think I’m a bit different. That might sound arrogant, but it’s how I see it, and I’m thrilled that fans have enjoyed watching me play.

You performed well for promotion-chasing Notts County in the first half of the season, so why did you move down the table to MK Dons in January? I got quite a lot of abuse from Notts fans when I left and I understand why they felt hurt, but I believe in the project at MK Dons. The owner is putting loads of money into the club and wants to see us move up the divisions quickly – he’s not messing around. I liked that ambition. You’ve seen what can happen to clubs like Wrexham when the investment is there and I want to be part of a journey like that. I could lie and say money wasn’t a factor, but I’m 27 and have two children. I received a good offer that I felt really showed their faith in me. I appreciated that. It wasn’t an easy decision to leave Notts – they’re a brilliant group of lads on an upward trajectory – but I had to make the decision that’s right for me.
