>Despite being a relatively young company, Polish outfit Polyend have now firmly established themselves as a brand who create gear that sits a little outside the mainstream. In the Eurorack realm, that has involved tackling concepts like preset saving and portability – neither things we tend to think of associated with modular rigs. In terms of standalone hardware, Polyend’s most significant release before this year was 2020’s Tracker, a hardware sampler that took its basic ideas from Amiga-style tracker applications like Renoise. It’s a concept that few would have imagined being a success, but Polyend pulled it off with aplomb, creating something that appealed to die-hard tracker heads and modern music makers alike.
