SEEFEEL ARE PRETTY much the definition of a ‘cult’ band. They were the first guitar-playing act signed to Warp in the ’90s and were broadly considered pioneers of shoegaze alongside the likes of Ride and My Bloody Valentine, although never achieved the widespread popularity of either act. Aphex Twin was a notable fan, and the fact an album of theirs was released on his Rephlex label is a good indicator of electronic and experimental tendencies that always meant that Seefeel never quite fit the shoegaze tag.
