Government reforms could affect our gardens
A plant health agreement could aid growers buying from the EU
Britain’s new Labour
government has set out an ambitious programme of reform for the next parliament, including key policy decisions that could directly affect gardens and gardeners. Top of the agenda is a house-building strategy to boost economic growth and address Britain’s housing shortage. The plan includes unlocking some of England’s 6,300 square miles of green belt to build 1.5 million new homes by 2030, at a rate of 300,000 homes per year.
