Commando Force Assaulters Course
by LCpl Morecock, Anzio Tp
Over the course of two weeks, Anzio Tp, P Sqn focused on refining its Close Quarter Battle (CQB) techniques on the new Commando Forces Assaulters Course (CFAC). The CFAC is a pass/fail course delivered by CQB instructors from the Unit’s Training Office taking Marines from initial to advanced levels in CQB tactics and skills and culminating in a tactical evaluation. The training took place at the Unit’s CQB training facility, which offers an array of tactical problems for the exercising troops to overcome.
During week one, the Tp refreshed its five step entry drill and learned how to navigate rooms with complex layouts. The Marines developed the skills necessary to address different types of enemy threats and to handle Captured Personnel (CPERs), all whilst maintaining silence as they moved through the building. The training emphasised universal skills to ensure that tasks were executed successfully, efficiently and safely.
