by Maj (VCC) L Colpitts
The Volunteer Cadet Corps (VCC), the smallest of the Ministry of Defence sponsored cadet forces, has had a vibrant and action packed six months, offering its 450 cadets and 155 adult volunteers a range of exciting opportunities and experiences. This dynamic organisation, formed in 1901 and encompassing the Royal Naval Volunteer Cadet Corps and the Royal Marines Volunteer Cadet Corps, continues to provide unparalleled opportunities for young people from the local community across its 12 units.

VCC RM cadets from CTC Lympstone were put through their paces on the challenging Endurance Course at Woodbury Common. Under the guidance of a RM Physical Training Instructor, they experienced the demanding nature of RM training first hand. The cadets demonstrated remarkable determination and teamwork as they conquered the various obstacles, showcasing capabilities typically seen in RM recruits. This experience not only built their physical strength but also instilled a deeper understanding of the dedication and resilience required to become a Royal Marines Commando.
