Store associate Omar Faruk talks kids’ vits, avoiding the sniffles and losing weight at the gym
Do you have any tips for parents who are getting their children ready for the new term?
Kids will be just coming back from the summer holidays, where they may have been eating food more for fun and less for fuel and could have slipped into bad habits. You might need to think about giving them a multivitamin, such as Optima Healthcare Junior Multi Plus Chewable (£3.99 for 60 tablets). Look for one specifically for kids, as children have different absorption levels and nutritional requirements while growing. Make sure it contains B vitamins, to help combat tiredness as the days get darker, and help boost immunity as they get back to the playground and are exposed to all those autumn sniffles. Riboflavin (vitamin B2) is good for eyesight and a lack can lead to poor focus and headaches. Also, teach good hygiene such as washing hands before they eat.
