MULLED WINE
CO-ORDINATED BY SARAH HAMILTON-WALKER
Makes 1 Preparation time 5-10 minutes
The earthy tones of the red wine offset the sweet notes of spiced berries for a deliciously contemporary twist. Try adding fresh orange slices to the mixture and gently heating to bring out the citrus notes.
INGREDIENTS
• 250ml/9fl oz red wine
• 25ml/1fl oz brandy
• 25ml/1fl oz Bottlegreen Spiced Berry Cordial
• A splash of cranberry or cherry juice
• 1 cinnamon stick
• Oven-dried orange slices (shop-bought or home-made), cloves and an extra cinnamon stick to garnish
1. Add all the ingredients, except the orange slices and cloves for garnish, to a saucepan and gently heat until warmed through, but do not let it boil.
2. Remove the cinnamon stick and pour into a heatproof glass. Garnish with an oven-dried orange slice or 2, a couple of cloves and a cinnamon stick.
