CALGARY, CANADA JULY 2011
From the moment they exchanged vows watched by a global audience, it was clear the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would continue to make waves all over the world.
From the dizzying whirl of their first official tour as newlyweds to their more sensitive diplomatic visits as seasoned royal travellers, they have experienced sights on their trips around the globe most of us could only dream of.
Here we look back on some of their top tour moments…
STARS OF THE SHOW
Just two months after their wedding, William and Kate received a rock-star welcome in Canada, as they began a nineday trip visiting Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and the capital, Ottowa.
During their stay, the royal couple took part in Canada Day celebrations, wore matching Stetsons at the Calgary Stampede and enjoyed a romantic canoe ride to Eagle Island – known locally as Honeymoon Island – on Lake Blatchford in the Northwest Territories.
The welcome was matched in California, where the Cambridges rubbed shoulders with Hollywood stars including Barbra Streisand, Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lopez at a Bafta Brits to Watch event in Los Angeles.
Representing the Queen during a nine-day Diamond Jubilee Tour of the Far East in September 2012, the Duke and Duchess charmed their hosts in Singapore and Malaysia and explored the rainforest in Borneo before moving on to the Solomon Islands and travelling by canoe to remote Tavanipupu Island.
