MICHELLE KEEGAN
Lands ‘dream’ job in Australian period drama Actress Michelle Keegan will spend several months out of the UK as she films the new BBC period drama Ten Pound Poms. The former Our Girl star, 34, has flown to Australia to film the six-part series.
“Michelle has always had one big dream, which is appearing in a period drama, and Ten Pound Poms will let her dip her toe in those past times,” a friend said.
Written by Danny Brocklehurst, with whom Michelle worked on TV comedy Brassic, as well as the drama Ordinary Lies, the new show tells the story of a group of British migrants to Australia in the mid-1950s.
“It is a big, bold character piece,” Danny said.
“It asks questions about success and failure, identity, parenthood and belonging.”
