CANINE COMPANIONSHIP
A new study by Dogs Trust reveals that around eight in ten owners cite companionship as the primary reason for having a pet pooch.
Psychotherapist Owen O’Kane, a Sunday Times best-selling author and former NHS clinical lead for mental health, says: “Dogs deliver a lot of things that we don’t get in everyday life.
Things we don’t give ourselves or that we don’t get from other people, such as compassion, unconditional acceptance and love.”
