Despite success in the Olympic pool and having her own learn-to-swim programme, Rebecca Adlington wanted someone else to teach her young children to swim. Here, she tells us why – and shares her top tips to help kids fall in love with the sport

Double Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington, who will be reporting from the pool at the 2022 Commonwealth Games for the BBC, knows first hand the benefits of being in the water from a young age. Which is why the 33-year-old mum of Summer, six, and one-year-old Albie launched her own SwimStars clubs across the UK back in 2013. The lessons, aimed at children aged three to 11, teach them “The Becky Way”, with a focus on having fun.
