Must pay 90% of Coleen Rooney’s legal costs Rebekah Vardy has been ordered to pay up to £1.5m towards Coleen Rooney’s legal fees after losing her “Wagatha Christie” libel case in July.
Judges ruled the 40-year-old Dancing on Ice star must pay 90% of Coleen’s legal costs, which are thought to be around £1.66m. Rebekah must make an initial payment of £800,000 by 15 November, while the final total of Coleen’s fees is agreed by the courts.
With Rebekah’s own costs added, it is believed her bill for the case could rise to £3m.
Rebekah, who is married to Leicester City striker Jamie, launched her failed defamation bid after Coleen, 36, the wife of football manager Wayne, suggested she was the source of leaks from her private Instagram account to a tabloid newspaper.
