GW YNETH PA LTROW’S GOOP
Her outlandish approach to self-care has made Gwyneth Paltrow a wellness star. The phenomenal success of Goop goes to show that we’re fascinated by her alternative (sometimes unorthodox) methods. Yoni egg, anyone?
Goop started as a weekly nutritional newsletter, before an online store stocking supplements and moisturisers launched in 2012. Since then, it’s grown exponentially into a lifestyle brand, with own-label products and several stores across the US, as well as a podcast series and Netflix show. The Goop juggernaut is estimated to be worth a staggering $250m (£207m).
Gwyneth, 50, still likes to share the trends she’s trying and the products she swears by with her followers on social media. Recently the mum of two revealed how she starts her day with tongue-scraping (followed by transcendental meditation, dry body brushing and a celery juice). This practice involves dragging a U-shaped tool across the surface of your tongue, immediately after brushing your teeth, to remove bacteria, food particles and other debris.
