Bafta award-winning actress Suranne Jones on getting in shape for action scenes and how she’s living with her perimenopause
One
of the most in-demand faces on TV, former Coronation Streett star Suranne Jones is using her position to raise awareness about the importance of gut health and looking after yourself from the inside out.
“It’s how your engine runs, that’s how I like to describe it, as the biome that keeps you going,” she tells us, after teaming up with probiotic liquid supplement brand Symprove.
Here, the 45-year-old Vigil actress, who also heads production company TeamAkers with her producer husband Laurence Akers, takes us behind the scenes as she prepares for her TV roles, tells us how she quietens her overactive mind, and shares the best advice she’s ever been given.
Suranne, has wellness always been a priority?
“When I left Corrie [in May 2004] and I was living and working away a lot, I really started to try and fit things in, whether it be checking in with therapists or trying to do regular gym sessions or at-home workouts. So from my late 20s, I have definitely looked after myself. I like alternative medicine, as well, so I’m up for anything that suits me.”
