Sharing a giggle with six-year-old Esmée McGlinchey, the Duke of Sussex showed his paternal side at the 20th Anniversary WellChild Awards, held in association with GSK.
Prince Harry had arrived in London earlier on Monday – his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, remained at their home in Montecito, California – before heading to the Royal Lancaster Hotel for the WellChild ceremony, hosted in partnership with hello!. He said the event was a highlight of his year.
Greeting families with a warm smile, the Duke spent an hour ahead of the ceremony with inspirational children who live with serious medical conditions, along with their relatives.
Harry told hello!: “I consider myself privileged and very lucky to be able to spend time with them before each awards ceremony and to hear their stories. They’re so humble. So many of us can learn so much from them: the way they approach life, the way they tackle every single day, and the family unit and the community.”
