Over her 20-year career, Gwendoline Christie has proved that she’s too rare a beauty, too great a talent and too complex a character to be pigeonholed.
As an actress, she’s a shapeshifter, effortlessly morphing from warrior knight in Game of Thrones to devoted principal teacher in Netflix’s Wednesday to haunting goatherd in Apple TV’s Severance – all complex roles, and yet she makes them look easy.
Although she’s respected for her acting and has been nominated for Emmy Awards, she is equally respected for her fashion nous. She is a frequent fixture on the front row, whether as a support to her partner, the fashion designer Giles Deacon, or her friend Sarah Burton, the creative director of Givenchy.
